The Devil Rides Out

The previous post was just a bit of village news
This one is just....well.......odd
For many weeks now I have been meaning to blog this photo

For outside Gay Gordon's neat little bungalow has been hanging a four foot plastic skeleton complete with lurid purple neckerchief
Is devil worship rearing its ugly head in the village?

  1. And just to clarify things for new readers Gay Gordon is only a nickname and not a lifestyle comment....Gordon is just very flamboyant

  4. I'll make no bones about it; it's not the most accurate skeleton I've ever seen

    1. Ignoring the pun; I thought the pelvic area was a bit suspect. It looks more like a dogs head!

Mind you, what do I know? I failed CSE biology.

  11. There's nothing ugly about that lavender scarf, it's all rather beautiful. I think Gordon should add another accessory each week--a flowery hat, perhaps, and a straw purse maybe?

  12. I think he's just getting ahead ready for Halloween, no doubt the Christmas tree and fairy lights will appear in a couple of weeks :-)

  13. If it dances when it's windy that's okay. But if it starts singing as well then I'd get worried. Whoooooooo.......

  14. Of the skeleton could talk, I think he would say, "I've been waiting for my very own invalid scooter for a very long, long time and I'm going to keep hanging around until I get one!!!"

  15. Reminds me of the poem,'When I am old, I will wear purple'.
If you don't know it, I'll hook it out of my files and let you have a copy.

  20. Halloween is only one day, when you've invested in such a nice decoration you'd want to hang it out a while longer than a day or two, maybe even leave it up until Thanksgiving (except you don't do that holiday, do you) just to get your money's worth. Or leave it up all the time, like people do their Christmas lights, and maybe add a different decorative scarf for different holidays. Except someone might think he's a chiropractor.

    1. And with it being Wales, who knows if there's going to be a day dry enough to put up the decs between now and Halloween.

  22. The more you tellme about your village the more I think it must be the strangest village in the whole of Wales - or maybe you are just good at rooting out the oddities.

  23. There is one of these, or maybe its more anatomically correct cousin, in a tiny alcove in the day surgery unit at our local hospital. Breaks the ice for the nervous!
