Oh P L E A S E!

My vagina is like Newark. Men know it's there but they don't want to visit.
RIP Ms Rivers

  2. Hard to believe she was 81. I'm sure she will be missed.

    1. Also, I have been to Newark. I stopped off to connect to an internal flight down South.

      I came and I went.

  4. She was a very funny lady, sometimes too hard on people, but she mostly made me laugh.

    1. She had something in common with tom then!

  5. Not everyone's 'cup of tea' I see.
Joan Rivers scared a lot of people with her comedy and that pleased her to no end. She is a legend in her field.

  6. Great quote. Right up there with one of my faves by Phyllis Diller.
"There's so little money in my bank account, my scenic checks show a ghetto."

    RIP Joan

I found her entertaining. Abrasive, but funny.

  9. We enjoyed her as well. Sure she was brash and crude and offensive at times, but she was an equal opportunity comedienne and everyone got it. She will be missed. This year has sucked for losses of beloved people.

I saw a recent quick interview with her on the street and the guy asked her what she wanted on her tombstone. She thought about it for a few seconds and then said it should read "She had a great time!".

We did too Joan, we did too! RIP!

  10. Sharp as a tack until the end. Can't help but thinking that she would still be alive if she hadn't had that surgery.

  12. When I was growing up, I thought she was very funny. As the years went on, she became more unkind. She lived a long life, and now I'm sure she's been reunited with her husband.

    Love,

  13. I've loved her ever since I first saw her on Ed Sullivan when she was a little girl. She kicked ass and took no prisoners!

  14. When I was a little girl, that is. Of course, Joan was younger then too.

  15. I watched her on Jonny Carson in the early 60's in on Fridays, when I was up later. She was brash, which was a detriment to women then, and still is. She was an outlier on the comedic scale, just because she was a woman.
I wonder if she has family, haven't heard anything about that.

  16. I loved her too. Especialy the last street interview that she gave about our situation here.

  17. A pioneer in female stand-up comedy.

  18. I had the privilege of meeting Joan Rivers twice - once at the NBC Studios in Burbank and once at a Hollywood party. She was intelligent, sincere, surprisingly sensitive, and entirely different from her public persona. Unique and delightful. She will be sorely missed.

  20. Oh no! I thought she was recovering!

  21. I especially liked Jon's comment
And as a person when met her
I would like this think his entry is definitive

Rivers could be over the pale sometimes, but she was a pioneer
And when on form could out class any one

  22. Thanks, John.
Joan Rivers was truly a sensitive and caring person, and I suspect that she used her crude humor as a cover-up. She truly loved her fans.

  23. Her humor was often over the top, but that was Joan Rivers...take it or leave it. RIP Ms. Rivers...one way or the other we'll remember you. Don and I lived in New Jersey for 9 months...I get the Newark joke!

  24. In a business dominated by men (who by the way got away with saying just about anything in their stand up routines) she was ruthless.
She went where no other female comedian had gone before defining the path for others to follow.
Yes she was toxic at times but she said her piece and stood her ground. She will be missed...

    1. Good point......I think a number of people need to remember that she started her career in the 60s when there was no powerful women on tv

  25. I said to my husband last night 'Would you call me a beautiful woman?'

    'No... call her yourself'
