Sue Bates..ITU's " Affable Despot "

Sue Bates

I was just off to bed (I was working nights last night and am therefore totally buggered) when I noticed that Sue Bates ( who will now be referred to as the "work affable despot"- she's a senior staff nurse on ITU...who is a delightfully sweet individual btw)  has requested eggs on a previous blog entry.
Now given the medium of communication is on Going Gently and given the fact I am not on duty for nearly 10 days (it's my birthday next Sunday btw).... Sue (WAD) can you let me know when you are on duty so I can drop you a few eggs off at work?

Don't you love the power of the internet?

  11. I am woefully behind (and yes, have a woeful behind as well)... but when a person catches us on 5 or so blogs at a time it puts things in a slightly different perspective. Can only hope our internet gets better, but... honestly, it's kinda fun to read about eggs, crack itch, and banana bread all in the same reading ;-)

  13. She resembles the Other Woman in the movie, American President....as to the rest, brilliant idea. For you. What do you suggest for some poor soul like moi who gets maybe 3 page views a week? Again, I'm effing left out of the tech revolution. I hate you people!!!

Did I digress somewhere, sorry. Where was I?

  14. Does this mean you're turning your blog into a low maintenance twitter feed in your absence?

Many happy returns of the day *btw.

  17. SOME of us have already got June 1st marked out as 'J.G. Day' on our b/day lists, and SOME of us could only have got that from our assiduous reading of your previous blogs. Just saying.

  23. "Let me know when you are on duty so I can drop you a few eggs off at work" sounds like a line from a badly run fertility clinic!

Bloody hell, John. You are in a different lobster pot to mine. I never ever ever remind people of my birthday. Not because I have anything to hide - after all, we do live in inflationary times - but the fuss, the fuss!

My mother is like you in that respect. Groan. Weeks before hers (and, naturally, mother's day) you'll get reminders so subtle a plank has got nothing on them.are. Afterwards, and there is always a post mortem, she'll tell me all about her bounty, particularly how my brother lavished once more on her. Those are the times I am glad I am only a phone call away since it allows me to roll eyes and sigh quietly. Only joking. I love OTHER people's birthdays.

Pre-birthday kisses, John. And remember: Too much anticipation sometimes resulting in a damp cloth.

    U
