The Walking Dead - Still

Daryl and Beth " run...run like the wind"
Tonight The Walking Dead went to a place where I have wanted it to go for a long long time......it went into some proper characterisation!
Still concentrated on two of the oddest characters. Teenage good girl Beth ( Emily Kinney) and seething redneck Daryl ( Norman Reedus) think that they are the only survivors after the prison attack. Even though Beth lost her father under the most dreadful circumstances, it is Daryl ( who had no life before the apocalypse ) who is the one who cannot cope with the losses of " team Rick" ...For in the first time in a dysfunctional life he is mourning a brief position of respect and status he gained as Rick's second in command.
Now that has gone, it is up to the slightly gauche Beth to ground him once again into the real and human  world,
Both Reedus and Kinney rise to the challenge of their two hander and their scene of mutual confessions over a drinking competition have a depth and emotion seldom seen on the Walking Dead before.........
I enjoyed it.........I just hope that Beth survives another episode. The series has a bad habit of letting an actor shine just before the zombies scoff em

  4. Darryl is a mystery and a riddle.

The sad thing is, I've met many like him here in Alberta.

    1. he was on a float giving out mardi gras beads. he looked like he needed a hose down and a scrub with a yard broom.

I saw it in pictures some where. that Ian whatever his name is, from the Vampire Diaries was with him.

  9. We all knew Daryl had 'the goodness' in him. He only acts as he does because of his upbringing and interactions with Merle. I thought him and Beth were going to go a bit further but, perhaps not yet.

  12. can we discuss why they either use cars or walk.

1, how do the get the petrol out of the stations? isn't that pumped by electricity?

2, why do they never steal items from garages? like bicycles? surely you would get about quicker. you could add panniers and if you find a family area one of those kiddie carriers that looks like a small caravan. wouldn't it be easier to use that to collect and transport food.

3, why haven't we seen any clever people who are making weapons? where is all the ammo coming from.

4, why don't they hide in a loft like in 30 days of night. or tear the stair case out and use a step ladder that they can pull up so the zombies cant get up stairs.

Does no one else question any of this?

    p.s. I know it isn't real....

(can you tell that I haven't been sleeping lately?)

It would make for boring tv

      I know what you mean
When they left the farm, all they had to do was to hide in the attic and let the herd pass them!

      Also
Why didn't the prison group have a plan..a meeting point everyone would go to if they were attacked?

Oh and how did antibiotics help the swine flu victims within half an hour?

(can you tell that I haven't been sleeping lately?)
      Tee hee
