Storm Force

Old Meg had somewhat of a radical haircut yesterday
Given the cold snap
I have fashioned a Margaret Rutherford-esque cape for her walk today.

Another storm with gusts of 100 miles an hour is expected later today
Oh bollocks!
Just heard it has been upgraded to a red warning storm

  4. It's blowing a gale here in Southern Ireland today. Best advice for everybody is to keep inside and keep warm.

  10. Have you thought about converting the hen houses so that they float? I thought the weather was down to climate change and not gay marriage? Who will they blame next? Those of us living in sin? Weirdos? Marriage wreckers? Blimey I expect to be struck by lightening at any moment

  11. Just seen your appendage. (Couldn't resist commenting on the Gay Floods photo you put up... sorry. Carry on.)

100 miles an hour? You'd best weigh down the chicken coops.

  15. I got a good chuckle out of that last photo! But I had no idea the storm was going to be so violent. I feel a bit bad about chastising you yesterday! Ah well, at least I know your solid stone cottage will be a safe haven.

  16. Red storm warning up here too - do you think it will warrant a mention on anything but the local news?

  18. Old Meg is just too cute! Winds just up here -- can feel it through the triple glazing... :-(

  19. Hold tightly onto Meg's lead when she's out. If that wind gets under her cape she could end up hang-gliding.

  27. Meg's cape looks just the thing for this weather. We've had the storm from hell today here too.

  28. She looks so chic Miss Meg!
I am with you on hating on this weather. Here in NJ we are about to get between 6-10 inches of snow while the Southern states are currently dealing with snow and ice which they are not accustomed to. I long to go out side without being bundled and looking like a giant tick! Stay safe my dear.

  31. Meg looks just like her namesake! I can't believe the weather you've been experiencing. That's the last time I comment on our "cyclonic winds." 100 mph! Hope you don't suffer any damage and that all goes well in "the village."

  32. The gays are doing it over there too,I see! Massive snow/rain storm here tomorrow!! Yikes this friggin' winter!!

  33. THANKS ALL
it's 22.10pm and the winds are just starting to subside just a little
I checked the battened down Ukrainian village at 18.00 ( the height of the storm) and only one henhouse had lost its tile roof ( 16 hens were all sat quietly side by side inside)

  35. What keeps your roof from blowing off? When I lived with cold and snow, I put a blue sweater on Faulkner the Collie. He loved it. It matched my coat.

    Love,

  36. Hope you weathered your storm John. Love the cape on Meg. But why such a severe haircut in winter? Klingons?
