Mundane Monday

It's going to be a mundane post today
It's going to be a mundane day
For today it's carpet cleaning day
Yaaaayyyyyy
It's a necessary evil of living in the country and having 20 paws in the house
When the carpet cleaner comes out
the animals retreat to their favorite places
They know what to expect
Noise and muddy water
All day
Albert hides away on his superman onesie cat bed

William is up on the couch

George is in bed

Meg is in the bedroom window

And Winnie watches the wold from the garden

  6. It's carpets in the bedrooms and tiles and lino everywhere else in our house. Mainly because we (us and the dog and cat) are always dragging mud and fym from the farmyard and vegetable plot. We could also do with making some paved paths on the veg plot. There's no chance of me doing any digging at the moment. Sun shine for a change today.

You would think in times of stress (carpet cleaning) they would all huddle together for comfort.

  12. I guess it's not such a mundane Monday for the pets...rather exciting. Albert's face says it all.

  15. I spent Friday morning, my day off of my big girl job, cleaning carpet and rugs at my house. Are we ready for Spring? I know I am here in Wisconsin so doing the Spring Cleaning now hopefully will make Mother Nature take notice. ;) Hope your house is all sparkly and no more bleached bum accidents. ;)

  16. Does the carpet cleaning set the cat off once it's finished? I seem to remember our cat used to go mad once they'd smelt the cleaning stuff...

  17. And obviously when Winnie comes in she will bring in the first fresh muddy footprints for the clean carpet!

  18. And no doubt they're all dying to frolic on the newly-cleaned carpets and make them all reassuringly filthy again!

  19. Tarpaulins on the floor here, which can't be washed so save me a job! Do have tiles in the Half Barn. Bought a steam cleaner to cope with the cleaning of them. Carpets? No chance! Too much mud around!

    1. William has always sat up like a little man...it's a trait in welsh terrier dogs.....Winnie adores standing in the garden just " looking" ..that's all she does " just looking"

    I love Albert.

And Winifred has confirmed all I know about her breed: The backside as revolting as their face. A horse's behind most elegant.

  22. John,

How on earth do your animals stay in one place while this work is going on. My dog absolutely hates a vacuum or a rug cleaner. He jumps off the coach and runs the opposite direction until he can get behind the machine and stare at it.
