  2. 13th century? Wow... now that's old! Get a close-up of that next time, would you John? I'd love to see inside the rectory as well.

I looked it up and was out by 100 years
      It's 14th century

  3. I liked it and we'll give it a 8/10. More close-ups would have earned top ratings! We'll give the commentator a 10/10 despite the audible sniffles.

  4. Thirteen century...Amazing! I enjoy history and will research your burial mound.

I must say this is the first time I have heard Bosoms described as untidy.

    Enjoyed the tape.

  5. It's lovely to get a proper feel for where you live.
Until now I hadn't grasped that there was a lane between you and your land.
    Great video, thanks !!

    2. Me too ! I didn't know about the lane.
I just thought you walked out the back door and into the blossoms and Ukrainian Village.
Thank You so much for the tour.

    3. Same here! This was enlightening - no wonder the chicken crossed the road. BTW, it is NOT dull and bleak - looks peaceful, historical, and wonderful.

It was lovely to see a bit of my homeland again, thank you.

  8. John,

Your cottage is located in a beautiful area.
I love the historic church and burial grounds.
It's cold here reaching 32 degree's tonight. How
cold are you there, or is it just windy and rainy?
Autumn in your neck of the woods is so amazing.

    2. Thank you. I had a look, and see that no one knows exactly why it was built ... but from the constant wind heard in your video I daresay they might have been trying to make a place to get away from it :)

  10. Loved your video!! I would love to see a close up of that 14th century cross too! Thanks for taking the time to video and share your part of the world. I really enjoyed it. Wished I lived next door!!

  11. That was lovely! If I had any inkling on what to do with my lovely new android phone I would share my evening walk up our hill with you! Very blowy but as in Trelawnyd, bizarrely mild weather here in Neath (and in Swansea where I have been hacking away at the bureaucratic coal face) x

  12. I didn't realise all your waifs and strays were the other side of the road from your cottage John. Also loved the 360degree whirl around the churchyard. I like any video of where you live - it adds to the scene. I am however worried as you sound rather breathless.

  13. I, too, enjoyed that muchly. I didn't realise there was a lane between you and the Ukranian village either!! I can now picture in my mind exactly where Mary's hutch is, and the churchyard wall that people often sit on/lean on/chat over. I feel as much a part of this village, and feel I know the characters in it, as much as you do. Thank you for letting us into your delightful life.
P.S. I think Winnie is absolutely gorgeous - love her goodnight kisses. She is one lucky lady.... John, so many people have taken you into their hearts because of your kindness, compassion, humour and wit. You have the rare gift of being able to see goodness in the simplest of happenings and convey it to your readers. Yours is the first blog I turn to in the morning (move over Rhonda !) to see the latest happenings in Trelawnyd.... long may you continue...

  17. This gave me some perspective of where you live John, thanks. I am sure we have lots of 14th century artifacts here of the First Nations peoples who lived here far longer than we have before 'we' took over their lands.

  18. I enjoyed the video. We had rain here this morning, but it cleared off and has been warmer than usual. I'm sure it'll be chilly tonight for the eclipse, but am hoping the cloud cover has moved off enough so we can see the moon darkening a bit.

  20. i too was surprised that your grounds were across the lane. do you leash the dogs to take them there or can they cross on their own? do you have a back yard at your cottage? thanks for the tour!

  23. Great! I'd been looking on Google earth and thought that I had worked out which one had to be your cottage by its proximity to the Ukranian village. Why is it called that by the way?

  24. Cos one villager remarked that the hen houses looked like one!

  25. Well, I could live there. Would love to live there. Want to do a House Exchange? You and Chris could enjoy a Sad Diego vacation, and my husband John and I would take care of the ducks, chickens, turkeys, and dogs. Wow. Maybe I'll thing about it just a little.

  28. Loved the vid! Why is that area called " bosoms"? Nice to see where the people that get to feel like friends (when I have been reading their blog for a while) live. I also love the fact that you post so often and I can read something new everytime I log on...twice a day! Off to walk the puppy now..at least it's not raining..just dull.

  30. What lovely English you speak, John. It was also good for me to hear how Trelawnyd is pronounced. Strange that what you call your cottage would be known as a large house in a small South African town. Brilliant video! Greetings, Jo Tanzania
