An Apology

I don't know what's wrong with me.......over the past few weeks I have forgotton THREE close relatives' birthdays.....brother  in law Tim...sister in law Jayne ( above) and Great niece Evie.
I am such a tight arse when remembering  birthdays are concerned, I just cannot quite believe I have done it.
No excuses mind you....just a big apology to the rels concerned.........belated gifts and cards will be posted tomorrow

    1. That's what I was going to say.
I use a calendar on my computer or phone to remind me, because I forget a lot of things, too.

  5. I see my sister's timely cards in the stack for tomorrow's mail, think Oh, damn, and scrabble to be a day late.

  6. The only one I can remember is my sisters. I am rather pleased that everyone forgets mine, sort of evens things out a bit. I am aiming for nil cards next year.

  7. I am just as bad. or I buy the card. write it and then leave it on the side for a month. its the thought that counts? Right?

  10. Do they all remember yours? If they don't, then it's not so important. (Tit for tat and all that).
Anyway, in the words of Alan Jay Lerner - "If I forgot your silly birthday would you fuss?"

...But have you ever thought of writing the birthdays down on your kitchen calendar?

  12. John, you're in good company - me! I'm always late. I tell friends and family I'm just helping to extend their birthday (or anniversary) celebration! Plus, I rely on the website www.birthdayalarm.com to send me alerts 1 week and again 3 days out!!!

  13. It's a bloke thing I believe.
Every husband I have had has instantly abdicated all responsibility for remembering birthdays and assumed I would take over.

  14. No one in our family would get anything if my husband was responsible for cards and presents.

Jean's reply made me laugh out loud. I've only got/had one husband, but I agree that it's a bloke thing.

  15. I'm usually really good at remembering birthdays and anniversaries. Sometimes, i forget to post the card in time, though and have tried to save face by sending an e-card so it arrives on the day. If i realize the card will arrive late and the person isn't one for e-cards then i phone and wish them a happy birthday.

As for writing them on the calendar, that's all well and good, but i forget to check my calendar half the time. Oops.

  16. I'm usually good at remembering birthdays but when it comes to forgetting them, it is always an epic fail. As is, we are abroad, no internet etc so have to ring up! No-one has minded so far, I think! Just think, the people who matter don't mind, and if they do mind, they don't matter!

  17. With thirteen grandchildren and a mess of other relatives and friends to remember, the ONLY way I can keep track of all those birthdays and anniversaries is by marking them on the calendar. Special days that happen in the first week of a month ALSO get noted at the end of the previous month because sometimes I'm (ahem) not so good at turning the page on the calendar in a timely manner. If all goes well, I actually remember to look at the calendar.

  18. It's not like you're BUSY or anything :)

  19. I'm not surprised you forgot, you have such an incredibly busy life. I would find it more surprising if you actually remembered every birthday and anniversary! I'm sure they'll understand you're not being rude, just trying to keep up with everything!
