My Bosoms Are Ready

A pair of bosoms have kept me up all night

I bet you never thought you'd hear me ever say that did you.?
Yesterday I did too much work, clearing stones and preparing the allotments
Bosoms' first two plots are now ready for fencing ( which should arrive today)
And then planting.
However all the lugging and carrying yesterday has had it's effect on my sciatica
Which has kept me awake for most of the night.
Buttock aches at 3am are not a laughing matter.

Anyhow, I think I need to remind people just why my allotment has been given the name of bosoms in the first place.
I have to thank the RFWF for that one.
A year or so ago, I asked him to think of a nickname for the allotments.. Like Cro has for his vegetable plot ( he calls his Haddocks)
The RFWF looked at me as if I was a loon, but gave the job a little thought when I added that the nickname could be something he perhaps liked or indeed greatly admired

I rest my case

Bosoms was thus named.

Anyhow I will have a day off from bosoms, geese and from country ways tomorrow as I am off to South Yorkshire for a long overdue catch up with some old friends.
I am having " tea" with my old spinal injury days matron " ohhhhh matron!" then will catch up with Zara wearing old queen John, comic fan Mike and old girlfriend Jane....
I've even ironed a clean top for the occasion

  4. Err...the Sheffield Wheel was dismantled some time ago! You seem to have done a great job with your Bosoms. The soil looks amazingly dry and - thanks to your efforts - nicely weed and stone free. Have a great time in The Steel City.

    1. Actually, you have just reminded me that I have a female friend with a smallholding which she has named, 'Merkin Farm'. Do you know what a 'merkin' was, and if so, have you any idea why you would need one?!

    2. I have just googled it.....yerch

    3. But (to quote Heron) WHY?

    4. Tom, I'm sure I heard George Bush say that he was proud to be a merkin...;o)

  8. the day YOU go for bosoms is the day I go for bosoms, which is NEVER for both of us!

  9. Sorry about your night time buttock pain John. I'm trying to think of a good name for the very unsightly cloche that appeared in our vegetable garden yesterday. Could the plastic not have been clear? Did it have to have 'The Futon Company' emblazoned on it in sun blocking black? We're back to the control freak thing here. I'm gritting my teeth....

  10. Whatever you care to call that allotment John - and bosoms is as good as anything else - it will still give you the same aching back. I am suffering too. We have an electric all-night blanket on our bed and I kept it on a little while to easy my aches and pains last night - then went to sleep and woke up at around three this morning absolutely boiling hot. Back still hurts. Have a nice day in South Yorkshire.

  11. All this time I'd taken 'Bosoms' to reflect the bountiful, nurturing banquet of goodies your allotment produces. Of course I was wrong, and of course the real story is so much better...! Enjoy your trip, John. :-D

  21. As a long time chiropractic patient one suggestion that may help your sciatia, lay on the floor flat on your back, pull your knees to your chest then slowly move your legs to the right and left. Sometimes that is all you need to stretch the muscles and pop the bones back where they belong. Have a great time visiting friends and hopefully you get this before you leave so you can try it out and perhaps have a pain free adventure. Can't hurt to try it, right?

  23. I think it's fantastic and utterly appropriate for the RFWF to be memorialized in this way. Makes me think I should name my veg bed Bollocks. I like it.

  37. My garden has the rather boring name, "Peace Thyme Garden". But, it will still be winter here this week, for sure. 10 inches of snow expected between this evening and tomorrow evening. I LOVE Colorado! All my seeded little paper cups are inside just waiting till they can get transplanted! Happy spring to you and your critters!
