Catching Up With Sleep

ok time for an "arrrrhhhh" moment
I have not been sleeping well at night with all this sciatica lark
So I have been sneaking off to bed in an afternoon for a sneaky few zzzzzzs when I can
Chris snapped this photo this afternoon ....
And yes Meg was fast asleep on my head.

  2. Poor Chris--supplanted not just by a FEMALE, but a canine one at that! Perhaps that's better, anyway. I do pity you your nasty sciata. It certainly has a way of ruining your ability to do just about anything. At least it waited until you were old enough to play the sciatic middle-aged man convincingly.

My Scottie Dr. Watson will sleep on the pillow next to mine but never that close.

  4. Haha, aww!

We adopted a Miniature Dachshund two weeks ago, so now I have a 25 kg Staffweiler on my legs, and a Mini Daxie curled up into my neck!

  5. I find that scything straightens out my sciatica, which is a bit of a nuisance because it means that if I don't scythe I get sciatica, and scything in the rain is not the best of jobs to do just to avoid that nerve jangling pain! Sending you healing thoughts John, sciatica is a nasty pain.

  10. I hope Meg sleeping on your head helped your sciatica. I thought she was a cute stuffed animal, not the real life Meg.

  12. And you still need a hat when you sleep? What's that all about?

  13. Sleep is good, I hope you have a pillow under your knees.
(I sleep w/hoodie, nothing like keeping your head warm - it is nice that Meg helps)

  14. Aw, that girl certainly loves you, John! I have a fat ginger cat, called Ginger, sleeping on my pillow at night. I feel so sorry for you with the sciatica. I had sciatica while on holiday last month, my house doctor injected me. The pain disappeared within eight hours and then my stomach ulcer started to bleed.(My GP of twenty years had forgotten I have a sensitive ulcer!) I was back to his surgery that Monday and although he prescribed meds, the ulcer has not yet healed. So perhaps the injection wasn't a good idea! I sincerely hope you feel better soon. Greetings Jo

the rotten thing about sciatic is...no position is comfortable :( so if you and Meg can get your zzzzzzzs in the afternoon...go for it! adorable photo of you in your watch cap with Meg as an additional head item!! Bravo Chris...well taken!!

  16. I hope you didn't get a stiff neck on top of your sciatica with ten pounds or so of dog on your head! Meg DOES look like a stuffed animal in that photo.

  17. 51 is not old. you should not be in pain for so long. I am turning 50 in two months, have a permanent DVT from ankle to groin, and have two immune diseases, fencing, take care of two horses & a burned up property and I am not in continued exhaustive pain like you have been, mister...this needs to be checked up on, because frankly, this is worrying me.

DID YOU MAKE AN APPT WITH A DOCTOR?

    okay. done with my momspeak...

  27. looks just right to me...at least it wasn't her bum on your head...

  28. Meg was helping you sleep. That's great.
Nothing wrong with taking a nap during the day.

  29. Aww what a great pic. Meg looks gorgeous and completely stuffed! Seriously I thought she was a stuffed dog. Sciatica is such a pain in the arse isn't it. Hope it goes soon. Love the beanie btw.

  30. As good as a hot-water-bottle any day. My cat sleeps curled up under my chin (if I let him).

  31. It is hard to know which of you looks more comfortable. One of our cats piddled on my partner's head twice while he slept (partner not the cat) but none of them have ever chosen to sleep on our heads. Feet or bellies yes, heads no.
I hope the sciatica is starting to ease.

  35. Awww...Meg is adorable! She looks like a stuffed animal toy :) I so wish my dog could sleep with me...but I have terrible allergies, so it is not to be. I'd end up having an asthma attack if I fell asleep with a dog on my head!

  36. She looks like my son's stuffed toy dog - gorgeous. You too obviously John. I used to wake up in the morning wearing my cat Wiggy as a hat in winter.

  37. Oh I hope it let's up on you John, my Mr. gets Sciatica and I know it takes the starch out of him bad . He does get the injections when needed. Sometimes they work.
