could I tempt You?

You can tell spring is but a knat's crotchet away from Us.
The weather remains cold but there is hope in the air
The new warrens, and the Crackhead whores are banging out the eggs like there is no tomorrow, so much so, that a small mountain of eggs have grown in the kitchen like Richard Dreyfus's Devil's Tower in Close Encounters
I have had an idea though. From this week I will start to seek out village volunteer bakers for my OPEN ALLOTMENT DAY on the 1st of September and will offer them some free eggs in turn for providing me with some cakes and produce for the cake stall.
Ok it's all just bit of eggy blackmail
So locals beware of a scruffy bastard bearing gifts

  4. Oops, sorry...bit of a typo going on in my last comment there! Are you going to do a series of dummy runs in the cake baking department though, John? Obviously the cakes would need to be tasted and approved....possibly several times over...before your Open Allotment Day!

  5. I do sincerely hope you're not 'baring' your gifts. I'd rather you were just bearing them...

  9. I think I might start on a compilation of quirky expressions found in your writing. "Gnat's crotchet" is a good place to start. Also, all that talk of eggs and cakes has left my tummy rumbling.

  12. Oh... I'm drooling all over my laptop! There is NOTHING like an egg "fresh from the chicken"... those yolks stand up at attention! And SO orange. I knew a woman who put orange food coloring in her (homemade) noodles to make them look like they were made from fresh eggs. Now... that's deceitful!!!

  19. Those eggs look suspiciously like the ones from my friends who live in Cardigan, Wales. No, not their eggs, their chicken's eggs.

Thank you for a fowl posting.

  24. If you got a permanent marker you could draw a little John Gray face on each egg then everybody would want your eggs. They'd come from far and wide - even from Rhyl where protein, like physical beauty, is in short supply
