  8. Oooh that looks lovely and I don't like Christmas cake. I've read far too many articles about being frugal and eating frugally over Xmas - balls to that. I have a homemade gluten free Xmas Pud with my name on it so if I can't have a blow out once a year then it's a sad life

  9. I find the guilt can be better managed if you have something in a glass to go with it..

  11. Wow, what a fab looking cake.
Mind you, it would look even better with a plastic Santa and a tobogganing snowman on it......plus a couple of those little Christmas trees made from green bottle brushes !!

  12. Oo, that's a good looking cake. I agree with the Duck, a nice glass of port would go down well with that.

  21. Now that is a truly impressive cake. It is likely to be toooooo hot for a major stuff feast here - but I am sure I will manage.

  23. Apparently, according to t'interweb, if you don't eat all of your Christmas cake straight away, you can slice it and freeze individual pieces. Sounds good to me!

  27. You silly man. No need to feel any guilt, because calories don't count during the Holidays!

  28. It looks wonderfully festive. Are you going to wait until Christmas to have the first slice and hope to make it last most of the 12 days, or have you already been enjoying a slice for breakfast, lunch, tea, and supper?

  29. Looks delicious. I have a light fruitcake in the oven right now. The fruit has been soaking in spiced rum all week so the house smells wonderfully spicy and boozey! Quite proper for the Yule season.
