J. Brahms

Wales is again on a flood alert for this weekend and the weather has again closed in on the village, making it seem deserted, lonely and rather miserable.
I have no farting anecdotes, animal poo stories and eccentric village character tales to share today...it is the day I will be cleaning the cottage before our friend Nigel arrives and it is the day that I will run the duster and the dyson around the church
Even the dogs do not want to leave the warmth of the kitchen sofa

This piece of music, is perhaps Brahms's at his most lyrical and melancholic.....
It sums up this kind of grey day perfectly

  1. What fillum was that the soundtrack to? A 1970s confection, I think. It would be great if you - whilst in the audience of a live performance - were to let off a loud fart during the quietest moment, bringing the performance to a halt. Ah... if only...

  2. It's been used for several films tom....I will have it a bit of reasearch! as for farting in public..... its not that long ago since I left one rip when I was leaning over a freezer in Aldi!
an old in a wheelchair laughed at me and said " I do that sort of thing all the time!!"

  3. At the moment in Southport it is just terrible. Thanks for the Brahms...

I'm absolutely dreading going out later. Our church is putting together its annual art exhibit today -- what a weekend for it! I expect those it's good weather for fart dispersal! ;-)

  4. The duster and the dyson? Don't forget the Febreze....

I guess all the eccentric village characters are also holed up on the kitchen sofa out of sight.

It's bloody miserable here too. Rain rain and more rain.

  11. I too thought it said "FOOD ALERT", and couldn't figure out for the life of me what that meant ?
Figured they have cut off the supplies to Wales, since there seems to be a whole lot of earthquake shaking activity, mostly in the village of Trelawnyd.

  12. I always find Brahms a bit on the melancholy side John - but maybe that does sum up the weather over your side of the country today. It is bad enough here and I believe it is worse over your side.

  13. Hope you get nothing more than a gentle rain, John.

  18. The weather here has been atrocious. Like March should be only slightly warmer.
The dog doesn't want to go out in it - she lies in her bed with her paws over her head, hoping I won't notice her. So funny.

  19. What a nice way to start my day/ It's predicted to be 114 degrees of 'dry heat'. Would that we could trade for a bit of your clouds and rain. Terry provides quite enough in the 'horn' section. If farting were an Olympic sport you'd swear he's in training. . . .

  21. I have a thing for Brahms. I played the Brahms Sonata in E-flat (Opus 120 No 2) for my graduation recital at U. of T. It was transposed for clarinet from the original viola, and I had a cellist and pianist to accompany me. Thanks for bringing back an old memory!
