Going Back to my Second home

I can't really get going blog wise today
I have not caught up with blog reading
nor have I felt like commenting
But generally I feel alight, just a little weary.
We have been clearing the back garden for a couple of days
It's looking rather sweet

The cottage Garden

I go to Sheffield for a visit on Wednesday
It will offer me some timely therapy
It's been almost a year since I last caught up with old friends
so it's time I visit
I need to chat, to laugh and perhaps to have a bit of a cry
Megan was correct when she noted that I have experienced a lot of loss recently
my heart, indeed feels just a little ragged
she's right in what she said

I will be touching base not only with the usual suspects-( the waspish Blog commentator Bel Ami (John H) Syfy geek (Mike) and Earth Mother (Jane) but will also have time to catch up with another three old friends, Kathryn, Vince and Bev , people I usually don't have time to touch base with on my usual flying visit to the Steel City.
Old Friends ground a person.
They will do me good.
I can feel a group hug coming on
hey ho

  1. I saw a quote this week that said something like 'why bother paying to see a therapist when we can just talk to our friends?' For me, this is so true, and this week, I'm meeting a 'blogging friend' which will a bright spot in my week -- I have a feeling we're both going to have a good week!

  7. Friends are definitely blessings, and all of my old friends are so far away. Phone calls, emails and Facebook help, but there's nothing like a group hug! May you have many while you're there.

    Hugs from me,

  14. Have a love-filled time getting recharged. I have sweet memories of a scrumpy pub in the hills above Sheffield.

  17. I've not been to Sheffield for thirtysome years. I went to a nightclub and got tipsy on Pimms. Ho hum happy days.
I did a bit of gardening today too, planting spuds, so not as pretty as your efforts.

  22. It's definitely time for a good visit with old friends John. Have fun. OH...and your garden looks lovely. Nothing like an old fashioned English cottage garden.
    Take care.

  25. Soak up all the love and comfort that your friends have to offer. You deserve it! You are constantly giving selflessly of yourself ~ you need to recharge your own batteries once in a while too...

Sending you hugs and prayers for your healing heart.

  26. Respite time. Essential for re-charging the batteries.

  31. You're a giver John and a Carer. You spend your energy taking care of others including your animals, most of which need special care. When loss hits in rapid succession you don't have time to grieve each one separately and uniquely. Time with good friends who can care for you will be really good for you.

  32. Just what the doctor ordered...friends. Better than any medicine. Your garden is beautiful.
