The Wind Doth Blow!

70 mile an hour winds, horizontal rain and hail ....I could hardly see the field this morning
I managed to snap a quick photo of the hysterical runners all leaning desperately into the wind

  1. My recollection of Sennybridge Training area was that the weather was always thus.

We don't seem to get any violent weather in Angola, only sometimes severe flooding due to the sheer quantity of rain.

    I do not envy you!

  2. Is the blow drier supposed to be going at the same time as the shower? It's not a good day to be a duck.

  3. Crazy ducks!

I hope no more damage is done to buildings and that your hand has healed well.

  6. I know what you mean. The noise of the gales kept me awake until the early hours wondering whether the roof was going to blow off!

Stand your ground feathered friends! However, I don't want to know when the wind reaches a speed that sends the ducks a flying!

How's your hand John? Healing well I hope!

  14. John, hope the wind is better now. It's terrible for doing outside work isn't it? The cold can be bundled against, the wind is just a bitch. Be SAFE

  15. Oooh! I can't even imagine. It's supposed to be 80 here today - not a cloud in the sky. Sending a little sunshine and warmth your way. xoxox Linda

  16. Always wondered what birds are thinking. Oh - hang on, that wasn't the whole sentence. Always wondered what birds are thinking when they are flapping into a headwind making an airspeed of ninety yet making zero ground progress. It's been breezy enough here to have trees down and the rest roaring in protest.

    Anchor your ducks to breezeblocks!

  17. My Dad used to call that 'Good weather for ducks" and I never thought about it, but now I would have to disagree with him!

  18. We had a night of listening to the empty wheelie bins having races down the street. In the morning we woke to discover that we all had something or other from a neighbour's garden in ours. we appear to have been generous with our fence panels.

  19. At least they know which way to face not to blow away. Hmm--how much wind does it take to blow a duck away? Hope it clears for tomorrow.

  20. My goodness! Hang on to your ducks! There is a bonus to living in my little, sheltered hollow. Not a lot of wind! No sun....but no wind. xoxoxox
